Casa do Porco at golden hour

Farm Stay & Spa in the Douro Valley

Casa do Porco

A centuries-old stone and timber house in Melres, where time stands still. No technology, no TV. Just the land, the river, and the silence.

Our story

Where stone holds memories

For generations this stone house has embraced those who arrive. Ana and Pedro received the family home and transformed it into a refuge of authenticity. Here there are no screens and no haste — there is the scent of firewood, the rooster singing at dawn, the steam of the sauna at dusk, and the Douro river winding in the distance.

Harvesting in the kitchen garden

🌿 Farm life, like it used to be

The garden and the animals

Chickens, goats, and a pig live in the yard. The vegetable garden yields produce for breakfast and for the table. Children (and adults) can help gather eggs and water the plants.
